5 essential wedding signage tips - from choosing the right signs, to deciding what's best for your wedding style

Wedding signage has become one of those details couples don't want to skip - and for good reason.

Done well, it guides your guests through the day, ties your whole look together, and adds a personal touch. If you're not sure where to begin, here are five tips to help you get started.

1. start with the essential WEDDING Signage items

Before you get carried away with all the extras, focus on the key pieces that make the biggest impact on your guests' experience: - Welcome sign - Order of the day sign - Table plan - Table numbers or names - Place cards. These are the signs your guests will actually use and interact with throughout the day, so get these right first, then build out from there.

2. decide your colours and style early

Choosing your colour palette and design style early helps create a cohesive look across your wedding invitations, signage and on-the-day stationery. It also means every piece feels like part of the same day, rather than being designed separately and pieced together at the last minute.

3. think about your venue

Consider where each sign will actually be displayed, and choose sizes and materials that suit the space. A large easel sign might be perfect for an open barn entrance but overwhelming in a small, intimate marquee. Your signage should complement your venue, not compete with it.

4. book your wedding signage early

Secure your date as soon as you can. Bespoke signage takes time to design and create. Design typically begins around three months before your wedding, once your plans are finalised. Booking early means guaranteed availability, and gives us plenty of time to talk through your ideas.

5. ADD THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Once you've covered the essentials, think about the extra details that can elevate your guests' experience: for example a guestbook sign, cards and gifts sign, signature drinks sign, reserved seating signs, or a loving memory sign. Choose the pieces that suit your wedding - there's no need to have everything.
